I'm a big breakfast fan. It's easy to be disappointed. First, the coffee's got to be very good. Believe me, it is
here . . . & the cup is bottomless. Second, the eggs are always perfectly done. My fave is the 3 egg scramble
with lots of veggies & cheese. It comes with bacon cooked in, but i like their sausages -- they are the best!
With the hash browns, it's nearly more than you can eat, & the whole thing is less than $12!!! It's a simple &
unassuming place, but don't be fooled -- it's a throw-back to when breakfast was honest & important!
I was visiting Vernon for the first time in years and the J-Don sign caught my eye as I drove by. I walked in and ordered a bowl of udon (thick noodles in soup) and was pleasantly surprised with its authentic taste and presentation. I'm from Vancouver (the centre of the sushi/izakaya/ramen universe...in Canada anyways) and it's not easy to find good udon in Vancity. I wish I could have tried the other dishes on the menu. Next time. The operators were friendly and very Japanese-style and the premises is clean and bright. Support this noodle shop!
not to eat at The Curry Pot. We drove from Kamloops and arrived at approx.1:15ish. The server/hostess confirmed that more food would be put out for the buffet. There was very little food forthcoming from the kitchen. There was scant bread. What food was available, in the mostly empty steam table, was good but, the quantity was most dissapointing (I cannot make a midday meal out of slices of orange and cut up melons). When i mentioned my dissapointment to the server/hostess she merely apologized with an unexplainable though, perhaps, accustomed smile on her face as she pocketed the money. We saw potential guests arrive at 1:40 turned away though the fact that the buffet/steam table was empty is logical. I went away hungry. We had heard about this restaurant in Salmon Arm and i will do my best to contact that referring individual to let them know what a dissapointment lunch was at Curry Pot. Perhaps the server/hostess could have told us that they would only be putting out the merest morsels of food and we might have taken our lunch somewhere's else.
I was in with a friend of mine for a coffee, and what turned into a casual chat turned into breakfast, as well as a treat to finish!
They have an amazing breakfast menu, with all of your favourites, including an amazing eggs benedict.
Their coffee is from Fratello roasters in Calgary, and I'll have to admit I've been to all the coffee shops in town and this one tops the list of great brews.
They also have amazing lunch menu with over 50 items! I've heard their beef dip and the house sandwich - The Bean There Club is also phenominal.
Hours are a little limited but definitely worth the wait!!
I suggest going in for morning breakfast and try any of their benedicts, big breakfasts or breakfast wraps. It is not greasy or heavy, and kept me going all day!
Booked my wedding cake order, made appointment to drive two hours to pay balance and finalize details. Only to be told, there is a staff shortage, we can't make your cake. No apology! No compromise. No referral. No professionalism. The baker even had the nerve to say that it was partially my fault?! Stay away from this place, they don't treat people right and they do not honour their commitments. This explains the staff shortage, probably staff issues their dealing with owner/baker.
