Used to go there at least twice a year..enjoyed the buffet....now increased the cost by $4+ dollars and I had the usual dynamite roll..now two 1/4 inch diameter prawns..also order special baked lobster tail roll...came and it was soggy and horrible..left the rest..told waitress..nothing happened..then on the way out went past sushi maker and asked him to show me the grilled lobster tails used in the roll..he reached behind a curtain and showed me a can of shredded lobster meat! Told him this is not a lobster tail..they smiled..nothing happened...walked out and never to go there again.

Worst Customer Service

Worst customer service ever. Two filipina ladies who were working at the till this morning (thurs) at around 10am were kinda rude. They were laughing at a customer as she ordered and they're trying to copy what she said. Lucky, the customer still smiled and said, "thank you". They should treat their customers with the same respect. Will definitely not come back.

Love this restaurant!! We eat here often and sometimes I get take-it as well. The value for the money is great and they even include a drink in the price. Always clean and tables cleared. The older guy is usually there during the week and he takes pride in his RESTAURANT but he isa bit short on patience for idiots. I have never seen flirting by the younger guys that are usually there on the weekends.

As for the guy with the Entertainment book, he said he produced it upon paying ...eveyone knows you have to show it WHEN YOU ORDER .... would have given the owner a chance to explain too many books were sold and he had stopped honouring it. His prices are very reasonable for value and I can't really blame him for having this issue.

Surprised Me

Went there just before noon on a Saturday. Son-in-law likes this place and wanted us to try it. Pleasantly surprised by menu .... breakfast special ... which is my favourite .... grilled chicken for the grandkid with allergies .... big burgers for the guys ... small burgers for kids ...and vegetarian burger. We had a lot of time to decide what to order as no one was coming to take our order - middle aged lady was cleaning the grill. I ordered my breakfast special and explained the egg yoke had to be"hard"- no moving around by itself. Over easy then she said and I agreed. Ordered delivered to the table and impressive for fast food. Two big pieces of crisp Bacon, good sausages, lots of hash browns .... but , although over easy, the yolk moved when i jiggled the plate. Decided I would eat the white only but when i cut into yolk accidentially it ran all over the plate right away ... and yolk was cold. So good food but staff should be at counter more promptly... and listen.

We received a BCAA promotion for Milestones in the mail. After a little persuasion, we received an appetizer, two mains and a dessert for a low price. The chicken on a bed of pasta with mushrooms was more than my wife could manage. I had a steak with frites, very nice two. We enjoyed a tort for dessert.

poor experience at Pelagos at crescent Beach

As a patron of this restaurant on monday September 4, 2017 My family and I a party of 10 had a horrible experience. We booked the restaurant and when we arrived were told to sit anywhere we wanted. It was a very hot night and the ventilation was very poor and stuffy and there was no Blinds on the window to block some of the effect of the sun. We ordered 2 bottles of wine and this came promptly and the server brought us a glass of water each. Ordered appetizers which also came within a reasonable time. Meanwhile the one taking reservations (A 13 year old kid kept adding a lot of Drop in customers which is their prerogative but when we started asking for service were told that Two servers did not turn up for work. Looking at how this establishment is run I am not surprised and our main course arrived. In the meantime we had requested for Water on FOUR occasions before it materialised and my wife felt sorry FOR THE SERVER AND SHE POURED THE WATER FOR THOSE WHO NEEDED IT.

It was such a horrible experience and likely even though we live locally, will not support this establishment. I should note that we ate at the GREEK in Vancouver and was a Great experience and comparing the food was also better. The Restaurant management was putting the patrons at risk of Health Issues because of the poor Environment and poor ventilation. I will also contact the City of Surrey and the Fraser Health board about my concerns. Is it legal to employ a 13 year old kid, which is the age the Owner told my wife when she phoned the Restaurant and voiced our concerns.

Failed to deliver satisfaction
By katesville of Surrey , B.C. (1 Review)
Submitted Sunday, August 27, 2017 - 10:44am [Dine in]

So I was very excited to try Pelagos - and upon arrival and being seated out on the waterfront patio, I thought..."this could be my new go to place". Great location, fantastic view and best of all my favorite food - Greek! Unfortunately the food did not live up to the expectations. I myself make a great souvlaki feast. So I know what goes into it and I would NEVER serve my guests the food that I received at Pelagos. I was extremely disappointed with the quality of the food. Everything, right down to the rice and the greek salad, was tasteless. I don't think that any seasoning whatsoever was used in the preparation. The lemon potatoes were floating in grease - good thing they only gave us one SMALL wedge (I mean seriously people - its a POTATO - i'm sure the price for your dish warrants at least 1/2 to a whole potato per person!). It boggles my brain that restaurants that "specialize" can take so little pride in what they are serving. I mean you are a GREEK restaurant - so make the best damn greek food that you can make!! If you are an ITALIAN restaurant - then I expect that I'm going to come there and experience great Italian food. Its not rocket science. If you are challenged by a too large menu and trying to keep up - then limit your menu selections, so you can focus on serving up those dishes in a manner that will keep people coming back. I'm tired of paying large amounts of money for dinners that fail to deliver any satisfaction whatsoever. Take some pride in what you are making - its your business - your choice - your representation.

Favourite local hangout.

I go to this Starbucks every day and have for the last three years. The baristas there are friendly and efficient, and know our orders by heart. They always greet us with smiling faces.

My partner said he didn't like Starbucks but I persuaded him to go and now its his favorite coffee place. He likes it better than his local coffee place which roasts their own beans because at Starbuck's the coffee always turns out exactly the same. He likes a Mocha with 3 shots of dark chocolate. He used to drink a Tuxedo (dark and white chocolate mix) but a barista let him taste the chocolates, and he realized the white was too sweet and he just wanted the dark. He also prefers Starbucks because they always get his drink 190 degrees, and when he orders it hot at his other coffee house, they sometimes get it hot enough and sometimes don't.

I love this store, and everyone in it. MJ16

My friends and I frequent this restaurant (particularly this location) a lot. The staff is incredible; the food is just really good. I usually order a double burger with fries; or the Salmon and Chips (both dishes are just excellent) got to say it's just very good food. particularly their burgers are fantastic

Do Have to say though; that their appetizers are not really a bargain at all. Ordered the Chinese dry ribs....Just terrible and for $8? totally a rip off....Also don't like that they charge $1.29 for a side of chipotle mayo

They also came out with a rewards program that if you buy 9 entrees; you get your 10th for free (regardless of price and no entrée is excluded as far as we know......but might want to double check with them first) and best part is; that if your friends in the party don't have the rewards; you can collect on their entrée.....
I just love the food and the ambiance......Be back soon

Misleading menu, Schnitzel was not a SHINITZEL , but a 1'' chicken breast. Just a light panko style coating and very pale in colour. A soggy coating didn't help, My medium size chicken breast had one very thin mushroom and an almost watery whitish sauce. NO TASTE.
Roasted potatoes and veges were very good. One on line menu had a price of $16, another had a $17.00 price. We were with friends for our after NEW Years get together so I didn't want to fuss. After discussing with my partner, she agreed with my assessment. Last time for this mediocre restaurant as 3 of the last four meals have been below average.

Terrible service but great food

Hi all, what prompted me to write this review is a continuous FAIL on the service. As soon as my group and I walk into this restaurant, the FAILING starts. As I open the door and take my first two steps inside, I come face to face making eye contact with a server behind the cashiers counter. She/He then runs off from behind that counter and disappears, so my group and I are left in wonder at what just happened. Then we are greeted with someone saying "how many?" They do not say hello or anything, just an abrupt "How Many?" Then a "follow me," if there is no 15-30min wait.
The food is delicious, that's why this restaurant gets a 2 Star Rating, otherwise this restaurant would just be an epic fail. I order hot water because I'm allergic to something in their tea. They say it will take a long time to boil, as to detour me from ordering hot water. I say "that's no problem." They drop off ALL the food and when my group is finished eating, I finally ask for the hot water they said they were boiling. The server forgets EVERY. DANG. TIME. When they finally bring the hot water after we have all finished our meals, they bring it in a plastic cup!! Boiling hot water should never be put in plastic, it is NOT HEALTHY. On top of it all, I can't even drink it, it's so hot it burns.
All in all, if you don't mind being ignored and the service, it's a great restaurant with delicious food. On the other hand, if you like to tip for good service, don't even bother.
Hope this review helped some of you.

I've literally been here 3 times this week for uthapam alone. It's a kind of crepe that is a vegetarian's delight with choice of 3 toppings. I usually choose tomato, onions and green chillis. Madras coffee is out of this world! If you are a foodie and want to try very good South Indian food, you must try this place. It is in Newton and a bit difficult to find. Other favorites of mine are the lamb dosa, chicken 69, & spring masala dosa. The business is family run and has become one my favorite places.

Horrible Service - mediocre food
By Treatsandeats of White Rock (1 Review)
Submitted Saturday, September 17, 2016 - 11:42pm [Dine in]

Made reservations for a party of 10. Arrived at 6:30. Ordered by 6:45. Two people at our table ordered salads to start and they arrived 20 min later. Drinks were taking 15+ min to arrive and the servers response was 'oh, they haven't been brought out yet?' I believe that is your job as our server is it not?
After waiting for nearly an hour and watching other tables who had arrived after us finish their meals I asked to speak to the manager. He explained they were extremely busy, short staffed and everyone was in the same boat. Not the tables who were seated after us and had already finished appies and mains... He then said it was because our table had ordered appetizers so there is a wait between them and mains and our pizzas were going in the oven right now.
It made no sense!! A table of friends of ours had arrived 10 min after us and was done their appies and mains and were settling up their bill. It was close to 8:00pm!
Being in the service industry for years myself I found his explanation to be ridiculous. A table behind us of 14 for all their meals before us and they arrived at 7pm.
After all this we still had to wave the waiter down for drink refills. And ask a few times as he always forgot.
We were never offered any pizza bread or something to tides us over while we waited. We had an 11 month old with us and he wasn't offered anything either.
It was pretty upsetting! When the pizza did come out it was just ok. Nothing like we were used to eating there. Some people did love their pizzas tho.
Extremely disappointed and will NOT be going back!
The manager did offer free desserts to us, which only half the table received. We also received 25% off our bills and a gift cert. Sadly it didn't make up for the 1.5 hr wait and horrible lame excuses and service.

I was at Town Hall for the first time for a fundraiser. The place is pretty nice, wait staff if superb, very friendly and able to keep us happy despite the slow service. We waited almost 2 hours for a burger and fries. It wasn't worth the wait either, the burger was pretty tastless although it looked good. Lacked seasoning. I don't know if the quality suffered because it was a fundraiser night or if they just don't know how to makes burgers and fries. I had fun there because I was with some pretty cool friends. But I don't think i would go back there.

For 11.99 lunch and I think either 14.99 or 15.99 for dinner, i am not going to complain.

i came for the lunch and all these reviews here keep saying how bad this place is. well you're paying 12 bucks. it's either here or mcd and here is 100 times better than mcd.

for 12 bucks, this is what you can expect.

pros

- 50-60 items to choose from, 75% of them were, surprisingly, quite good.
- utensils, plates, tables were all clean.
- pork, chicken, seafood - read again - SEAFOOD. seafood is shrimp, squid and fish. fried squid is awesome.
- not overly greasy, as what many are saying. food is slightly better than food court chinese food.
- the fish and seafood are best tasting. although frozen, they do what they can to make the seafood tasty.
- dessert is not bad - ice cream, cookies and cakes. ice cream is not half melted but at perfect temperature.
- the honey garlic ribs and sweet and sour porks are good tasting.
- great service.

cons

- pork is not the freshest, not as in going bad, but using yesterday's leftovers.
- sushi is not cold enough but fresh ingredients used nonetheless. a maintaining issue.
- pork hock could use a little more flavor and longer cooking time.
- fried chicken drums sticks were dry but good flavors and crunchy.

again, the pros far outweigh the cons and for 12 bucks lunch, it beats out uncle willy's by a long shot despite uncle willing having a far superior location.

one recommendation to the owners is to clean up the outside building walls. a fresh coat of paint would do wonders for this restaurant's external look as, initially if you drive by, you would think this building was getting prepped for demo or razing.

i would return whenever possible if i am in surrey. it's really good value and decent quality.

This is a very well run "IHOP" location. My sister & I arrived shortly after 10 a.m. this Sunday morning. The waiting area was so full it extended outside of the restaurant. Yikes. We gave our name for the wait list. A mere 15 minutes later our name was called!
There were many servers and all staff seemed well organized. We received our food within a few minutes of ordering it and probably left about a half hour later. Completely hassle free.
We ordered "Cheese Blintz" and "Raspberry Sweet Cream Cheese Crepes". DEEElicious! Can't get them at any other chain restaurant in the Lower Mainland either.
Note, during peak hours the parking lot fills up quickly so you may have to park outside of it.

Nice patio dining experience
By VJB of abbotsford (171 Reviews)
Submitted Sunday, July 3, 2016 - 10:00am [Dine in]

We had a nice meal on the patio on Canada Day. The restaurant is right on the Canada US border. You take the last exit before the crossing to the US.
The theme of the restaurant is very much horse racing and they have many posters inside the restaurant of various horse races and each table has a screen that has horse racing. I much preferred our seat outside on the patio. We were the only customers on the front patio so it was very nice.
The service was okay but not great. The water was not topped up at all during the course of our meal and when we ordered a bottle of wine our server did not even open the bottle and pour the first glass (I think that maybe a first, sometimes the server will not top up the wine but they always at least open the bottle and pour the first glass). The food that we had was very good. We started off with an appetizer of calamari and it was a generous portion of crispy tender calamari served with tzatziki sauce, onions and tomato. For entrees my husband had the barbecue spareribs that he said were very good. The ribs were nice and moist, it was very flavourful and it was a good sized portion. I had a pork chop with a cherry sauce. The pork chop was well cooked and the cherry sauce was well paired with the pork chop. It came with mashed potatoes, and grilled, cauliflower, carrots, broccoli and asparagus. The vegetables were really good as they were grilled and very tasty, not like overcooked steamed or boiled vegetables that you often get.
I don’t whether it was just the evening that we were there or if it is a regular Friday feature but they had a 3 course menu that included soup or salad, entrée (one entrée was rib steak with 2 prawns) and dessert for $22.00. Our entrees were $19.95 each and for the quality it was good value.
After we had finished our meal and were enjoying our wine the owner or manager came out to chat with us for awhile. It’s nice to know your business is appreciated.
It was a most enjoyable evening on the patio. If we returned I would try to get patio seating again.
