So I went to Wendy's hungry, and I should have known that this was not going to be a good experience when the order in front of me asked for chocolate milk and they gave them regular milk instead, even though they did have chocolate milk.
Then I ordered. I asked for a Dave's Double Combo with no ketchup. And low and behold, the fruit fly at the counter recorded my order as a double cheese with no pickles. What? Where in the seven rings of Saturn do you get no pickles from no ketchup?
My elderly father decided to order next and asked for two single combos, which were also recorded as double combos. Brilliant, another thing to fix - but it gets better. So my father asked for chicken nuggets too, and after that he asked for waters instead of sodas. The alpaca manager proceeded to inform him that you don't get chicken nuggets with bottled waters. He just stood there looking like he was going to have a Rain Man incident. It took us at least another minute to explain that drinks came with our combos, and we wanted waters, no sodas.
To further display their complete incompetence they put every single item on the order in its own bag. Do I look like an octopus with 8 tentacles to hold 8 bags? I didn't think so. It would have been much easier to put, perhaps, two burgers in one bag, but no, not at Wendy's.
As soon as I got home I saw that they completely botched the orders, even after this lengthy ordeal.
Good God if you ever visit this Wendy's prepare to give your order to Sesame Street characters and have them get it all wrong anyways after you spell everything out for them.
I normally love O'Neils, until today, We ordered 3 dublin deluxe, one Quarter Pounder with Cheese, side order of onion rings, cheddar cheese balls and mozzarella sticks and a med gravy. $65 with delivery. alright I'm good with that, the cheese balls are amazing. so we order at 5pm, and wait, 2 hours goes by and our food has arrived! alright I know its a Tuesday night and it can be busy so I can deal with the 2 hours, its not uncommon for this place. first they forgot the debit machine, ok no problem, then we open the bags and are missing items. and our food is ice cold! we call and complain and are told to Microwave our dinner! they offered a credit that we felt was completely unfair. even if they offered our food at half price I would of taken it, instead we had to send the food back with the delivery company. 65$ and 2 hours and that is what we are told! it sucks! we love O'neils and are so disappointed with this service! unfortunetly we will not order again from O'Neils @ Barton ST
There is an elderly lady there named ethel Wilson, She keeps this place spotless, If Wendy's ever gets rid of her this place would be a mess and the lunch regulars will stop coming, The people come in just to see ethel and chat with her about her best grandchild Tim and grab a nice meal I hope Ethel is brought back there after the March 2016 renovations.
The veggie plate and spinach pie was good. delivery took an hour and a half. i called the restaurant and was ignored. called again, they picked up and then hung up on me. i call again they say " hello" i tell the staff member i ordered on just eat about an hour and a half ago and he interrupts me in mid sentence saying " yeah its on its way "
i just wanted to know if there was a problem with the order. not to be interrupted or ignored. incredibly rude.
i also noticed on my bill $5 was subtracted which was a nice gesture. the delivery driver told me it was 20.88 sense when it should have been $15.88 according to the bill. i realized this as i got back up to my room.
service is terrible. if there is a holed up nobody should ignore the customer, lie or be straight out rude. face the problem and be direct. i will never order from here ever again. obviously it is a place that is not capable of delivering,
A year ago the pizza tasted really good. I ate there at least twice a week. Today I find that it all has gone down hill. The crust I cant eat anymore, it tastes nothing like it did before. Iam sure they changed the pepperoni, it also doesn't taste the same as it did. Today I went in there and I didn't get the double cheese that I paid for, there was hardly any cheese on the pizza at all. This was actually the worst pizza I have ever had. they must of had the dough at for hours cause it tasted like cardboard. I called them right up and they said that they couldn't do anything for me. Then the guy said next time the topping is free.....Whoopieeeee
I will never eat at this place ever again, bye bye.
My wife and I love going out and getting breakfast. We are not picky or food snobs when it comes to breakfast either. There are a lot of dives and greasy spoons in Hamilton that serve up solid to outstanding breakfast fare and good price and good service. Phyl's is not one of those places. You seat yourself and be sure to grab a menu at the door before you sit down. Being our first time we ordered the basics a two egg and bacon breakfast and the eggs Benedict. ONE HOUR later we were served what can only be described as an insulting excuse for a breakfast. My wife's "eggs Benedict" was cold and did not have a poached egg but a fried egg. Also the peameal bacon we paid two dollars extra for was undercooked. My meal was much the same. Fried eggs (not over easy) and the potatoes were an obvious right off. I tried a bite and was found that my instincts were right, diced up boiled potatoes with zero seasoning. Very slimy. I always tip a server who is polite and kind even if our experience sucked but I will never come back. We left feeling cheated out of our weekend breakfast. How do places like these survive in a city like Hamilton?

The place is nice and clean. People are friendly and the breakfast is AMAZING.

I approached Manchu Wok at Limeridge Mall. I saw a sign that said, "Under New Management".
I had no idea that the taste of Limeridge Mall's Manchu Wok had almost totally changed when it came to their chicken selection. I looked really hard for sesame chicken because I didn't see it in the bins. An employee there was helpful to point out that it was there, even though I didn't see but a few seeds on the chicken pieces.
I get home to eat one of my favorite meals and to my surprise all I taste is breading, barely any hint of sesame and no orange flavour in my orange chicken. Not only that, the breading was so hard on mostly all of my chicken.I had just paid close to $9 for a bit of noodles and bread batter with almost no traces of chicken.
I decided to hunt down the phone number to Manchu Wok at Limeridge Mall, and as hard as it was to come across I did find the manager's cellphone number. It was nowhere to be found on the internet, though, I was fortunate to find it through a job posting that the manager had posted online. In reading the job posting that was listed I sensed that the manager was going to act how she did when I phoned her cellphone to ask why I got bread instead of chicken.
So, I call. I say, where's the chicken in my sesame chicken and orange chicken? Did I just pay close to $9 for noodles and bread? What happened to Manchu Wok's quality and advertised flavour of food? Why is the bread rock hard? She then replies, "We change management and I have no control over that." I tell her I want to speak to the manager. She tells me, I am the manager, and then she hangs up on me.
I never asked for a refund. I was inquiring about why the food tasted so poor and only like bread instead of chicken. It doesn't make for great business when any manager hangs up, even though the customer makes valid , honest points. I'm not over exaggerating. If you taste it you too would wonder where the flavours and chicken that is advertised were left out of your meal. I'm serious, this is not chicken and it sure as heck isn't anything like the quality that the old Manchu Wok offered at Limeridge Mall.
Until she hung up on myself I did not think about writing this review.
I call back to tell her I'm going to write a report so that people that search reviews online know what Manchu Wok has changed into, including her customer service as a manager. She again tells me that it's new management. This time I hung up.
I do not recommend Manchu Wok in Limeridge Mall. Unless you enjoy bread batter and hunting for the chicken in your meal. She had no respect for myself as a customer that once experienced the great taste of properly battered chicken, rather than batter with a smidge of chicken which one must hunt to taste. The way that their manager dealt with myself was totally inappropriate when it comes to customer service. I am not picky! It was just down right cheap to serve and treat any customer in such ways.
It is in my hopes that she will see and learn from this review. I also hope that other customers that may have experienced similar situations post about their experiences. I'm sure there are many that feel the same. This is NOT the Manchu Wok that I remember at Limeridge Mall. How can we not notice the difference?
Have been a long time customer of Valentinos, probably about 10-15 years, ordering a pizza every week. My family members as well ordering a pizza every week or so.
The most INCONSISTENT pizza you will ever order.
One week great, the next, the entire bottom of the pizza completely BLACK. One week, cheese on half the pizza, and again BURNT crust and bottom of the pizza. Discussed the issue with the manager twice handled POORLY on the last occasion. The manager stated "this is how our oven cooks the pizza" rather than apologizing and aiming to CORRECT the underlying cause. On the first occasion, the manager explained that it was a busy weekend and I understood this. On this last occasion, the restaurant was completely dead. No excuses.
Rather than trying to correct the problem, stated this was the way their pizzas are cooked.
I am a patron who is more than willing to pay their fairly expensive price for a pizza. What I am NOT is a person who is an idiot for paying an expensive price for a POORLY made pizza.
I guess you can roll the dice and then see....this could be the week your pizza is great! Or it could be the time were you bring it home to enjoy it with your family and you are embarrassed that half the toppings, the crust, and bottom of the pizza are completely BLACK.
FIND ANOTHER PIZZA PLACE fast! It is worrisome when a manager doesn't care about the quality of their product. Terrible, Terrible, Terrible experience.
They have lost not only US as a customer, but our family and extended family as a customer, all because they did not want to correct underlying issues.
We went out on Saturday Night Thought we would try Rankin's it was great. The ribs were awesome, fall off the bone and the value was great. Price are incredible and the service was friendly and the atmosphere was very relax and quite comfortable.. We will definetly be back . I would suggest checking it out if your in the East end of Hamilton.
This was officially the worst night of my life. I have organized a birthday party for my mother's 50th birthday at Edgewater Manor in Hamilton this year. Booked it over the phone, asking if I could invite a violinist to perform for about 15-30 min at the event. Manager said it was no problem. When we arrived noone greeted us, actually we had to go ask around if someone knows where we were sitting, out of 3 people at the front - noone seemed to care.Until a manager showed up and sitted us finally. No high chairs were availiable for my son either. They just didnt have them apperantly... We were in shock...manues or wine cards did not arrive at all. We had to again get up and look for a server to get anything ordered, in the first hour all we recieved was water. Horrible! Then the waiter with greesy long hair said he was not sure about some items on menue being availiable at all. Later on our violinist started his performance. As we proceeded with the dinner - we got asked to be sitted some other place but the main restaurant at least 5 times. I couldnt understand why until manager explained that kids were not allowed in this place! What? It was our fault for bringing my 1 year old bc we didnt warn him (the manager). I said so far its been horrible as is and because of no parking, no waiter, no menues, no highchairs - for the lack of a better word this place was "shitty" - manager started yelling at me in front of other people and demanded the whole party to pack up and leave right this moment including our violinist... I asked what was the problem - they should be happy I hired live music to play at their restaurant. On that his reply was that all guests comlain. How was that even possible??? All the other tables have been giving the guy their business cards all night. After manager yelling some more and me realizing he was not in right mind obviously - I was trying to calm him down already. He finally said that amplifiers were too loud - thats all. Ok we can shut down amplifires then - not kick the whole party out. After doing that, I had to call a driver to take away my baby for the night to babysitter. (Has anyone been kicked out for having a baby???) which was completely unscheduled and cost us a lot on a saturday night - i was in utter shock - started crying outside on the street while waiting for a ride. when i arrived back to the party the waiter said that i should bring dessert platter to the table by myself - really? why was he hired to work at all then i wondered??? Overall $90 per 1 plate and a drink per PERSON! YOUR free glass of champaign didnt compensate all my tears that night EDGEWATER (MANAGER PETER esp) and self sitting, self cake cutting, self-coatcheck, the unstable manager PETER yelling at me, and barwoman trying to tell me not to tell anything to anyone for the reasons of not making it any worse, and finally all the tears on the way back - SHAME ON YOU! HOPE EVERYONE CAN SEE THIS HORRIBLE PLACE OF YOURS FOR WHAT IT REALLY IS AND VERY SOON!!! from the bottom of our hearts. Birthday party disaster!!!!!
Haven't been in a few years so I was surprised to find out they discontinued the beef shawarma on the menu however the chicken thigh meat was tender and excellent in flavour and the pita was loaded with tzatziki sauce and the usual fixings of chopped onion, tomatoes, lettuce etc. Definitely my favourite place in Hamilton for a quality ingredient, very filling shawarma!
and i will open my own Timmys with all my faves that have been discontinued over the years. Actually i found the infamous wedge (hot dog bun shaped concoction with whipped cream) in a Cambridge location. This location at Fennell & Up. Ottawa has the best tasting brew in all of Hamilton -I swear it! Also, I'd serve French Onion Soup at least twice a week (which the Up. Gage & Fennell location just stopped serving) Very hard to find. Found the Strawberry Sensation muffin out in Ottawa this past summer (another hard find!) And lastly, I'd bake the Apple & Cinnamon powdered donut everyday, if I had my own store :)
freshly made to order. no stomache afterwards which is a bonus if you're scheduled to go back to work! I'd say order the steak & green onion (070) I also would order the Pad Thai and breaded scallops. Tempura dipped sweet potatoes are always a favourite. Unfortunately, the wonton soup tastes like melted plastic which could be contributed to the strange plastic spoon served with it. The sushi rolls were beautiful and the dessert of fried bananas and tiramisu are da bomb!
Ordered two shwarmas during peak time late at night. First given the wrong food and I was well aware that our shwarmas were still in the assembly line. The woman behind the counter ushered us into taking the wrong food and proceeded to yell that it was ours, when we knew it wasn't, to get us out of the line. We then stepped aside to check our food, and we were right and were given beef (which we don't eat religiously and took a bite out of) instead of chicken. We went back into line to state the problem and when I made a comment under my breath the man in line began yelling at us about being disrespectful to his mother at the cashier, when he couldn't even be sure of what we had said and did this twice. Overall, horrible experience, shitty service. Our shwarmas weren't even good in the end. Don't start a business unless you know how to professionally deal with people.
Watched a show last night, saw a place called The Harbour Cafe in Hamilton,Ontario. Decided to take a 3 hour drive and have lunch there. When we arrived we were told a 15 minute wait, which was almost 50 minutes standing outside in the cold. Finally got inside, told they serve breakfast until 3 p.m. we could not order off a lunch menu. Had to share a table with other people, small, dirty place. Hydro went out, bathrooms were filthy, service was poor. The food wasn’t good either. We won’t be back…………very disappointed.
After Living in South Korea for over a year I always long to find a resturant that served traditional Korean dishes. Korea House is that place! THe prices are great and two people can eat for under $25 total. The barley tea is also great. They have all the Korean favourites and they are prepared in the traditional way so watch handling your soup bowls. The side dishes are outstanding and they will keep filling them as you ask.
No language barrier here as the staff speak bother fluent English and Korean.
IF you want a spicy filling meal with a low price and a atmosphere that makes you feel at home and welcome then head to Korea house and get your spice on. Have some Kim chi for me!
Decided to eat here and try something new while in Hamilton. We walk in and look at the menu and the girl behind the counter didn't give us any time to decide before saying "what would you like" in a very snarky tone. We said we just needed a minute and she looked very annoyed. We go to the counter and I ordered a filafel pita, and my husband ordered what he wanted. She misheard me and started making a filafel plate instead. She asked me what kind of rice I wanted, Which confused me because she was talking very fast by very quietly, and I said pardon. She looked extremely irritated and said loudly and upset "what kind of rice do you want!!!" I said, I ordered a pita...not rice? She looked VERY upset with me...cause apparently I did something wrong....?she continued to talk very rudely to my husband and I while topping our pitas. So...needless to say...HoRRIBLE service. The food was very bland. My husband had two huge clumps of grizzle in his beef shwarma, and a piece of bone which almost broke his tooth. So...we will never be going back. Also, it was filthy in the restaurant. Dirty floors, grossly stained ceiling, dirty everything. Never again!!!
We love this restaurant....have eaten here atleast 1/2 dozen times in the last year. They may have been having growing pains in 2010, but must've improved over time because we have never had a problem with the food or service at this lovely restaurant in all of 2011. Have had breakfast, lunch and supper here and all meals have been delicious and I'm a picky eater. The burgers are really good, the chicken fingers and fries are delicious, BLT sandwiches are great and the Western sandwiches made with 3 eggs are huge. This is a fabulous local family all day restaurant and hope it stays here forever!!! Way to go Phyl.
Rumak Eatery and Bar (which I'm going to call Rumak's from now on) is a casual sports bar kind-of-place. The place is clean and comfortable, the staff is friendly and accommodating, and the prices are good. I was there on a Wednesday which was 1/2 price wings and $4.50 pints, so I was impressed. Their prices are good even on regular nights. If you like Polish food (perogies, goulash, potato pancakes) then you you should visit. They even serve Polish beer, along with a selection of domestics (bottles and on tap). I've been there twice and will definitely go back. You should check their hours out before you go.
