I love Suchi has become a regular restaurant for both eat in and take out. A wide menu selection, quality, fresh healthy ingredients, and professional crafting make this a 3 times a week pleasure for me. The owners and staff remember my special requirements, without any reminder from me. I am always greeted as a friend more than a customer.

I am disappointed to have to update my review, but the Manager of Chau Veggie Express Maria Huynh leaves me no choice.

They are incredibly busy, so they don't care if you have an unpleasant experience (or multiples of them).

I have been a dedicated and loyal patron for the last 8 months (embarrassingly eating here about twice a week). I contacted the manager "Maria Huynh" with my issues with NO RESPONSE AT ALL.

Eventually your declining service will catch up with you. You are enjoying the glory of your busy days but I am very disappointed on how my complaints were dealt with (as in...NOT AT ALL) and left a sour taste in my mouth.

I will miss your food.

I used to love this place a lot though not anymore after having this bad bad experience. I don't even want to give a single star to them.
Last Saturday, we were enjoying the meal then at the end found a PLASTIC BAG INSIDE THE POT!!!!!! Imagining it boiling and poisining the food entire time made my appetite disappear. But what pissed me off most was the reactions they took, wasn't sincere at all. They just said sorry in a small voice then first offered us an another hotpot for free, which is super stupid cuz we were obviously full, then instead they gave us an offer for a free drink and 10 percent coupon which is gonna expire in 3 months but who's gonna want to go back to a place like this... My anger reached to the boiling point as their name...
I strongly don't recommend going to this place, but if you still want to try just don't forget to search inside the soup before starting to eat!

Awful Hostess

Went on a Sunday afternoon in July. Line up was long but was in the area and looked forward to eating fish and chips with my husband and 4 year old son. When our turn was up, the hostess said we had to go on waiting list. I happily obliged, gave my name and stepped to the side. The family behind us had 4 people. Magically a table turned up and rather than seating in order, the hostess decided to seat that family first. I was confused and said to the hostess, "Um... excuse me...we're 3 people and I believe we're on waiting list?". She just ignored me, walked passed me and the family she was seating looked at me while shrugging awkwardly and said, "oh, we don't know why, sorry about that" and followed the hostess while asking her why they got seated first. When the hostess came back, I asked for an explanation. She gave non responses and said it was the restaurant's policy and that different sized groups will be seated at different sized tables. I told her I was interested to see how much smaller a 3 person table will be from a 4 person table. She continued to be non-apologetic and curtly said there'll be a table for us in 2 mins... as if I was being annoying and impatient. Even the group behind that family asked why we didn't get seated. Our conclusion was that maybe she's very disorganized and frazzled? 15 mins later, we got a table, low and behold it was the same size and in the same area as the family she seated 15 mins before. When I asked her for a proper explanation, she went back to giving non-responses. I said to her, I can accept that she made a mistake/ was frazzled etc. but her non-responses about restaurant policy and different sized groups and tables made no sense because 3 people and 4 people tables tend to be the same size. She pretty much said, 'ok whatever sorry'. Very disappointed that I had to beat an apology out of her and also baffled as to why she was so adamant, despite 3 people approaching her as to why the other family got seated before us, that she was right. Begs to question, was it a racial thing? My family is Asian and the family behind us is Caucasian; she is also Caucasian. Doesn't matter if you waited in line, was polite and pleasant, you'll still be put second if you are Asian? Anyhow, our waitress was great and the food was delicious. We each had fish and chips with chowder. Plates of food covered the whole table. But way to ruin an otherwise cheery Sunday. Extremely disappointed our go to restaurant in Horseshoe Bay has a hostess that operates in this manner.

BBQ Pitmaster this place is NOT!

Having been in the BBQ hobby for the past 4 years now we decided hey why not were right in the area so we stopped in on a Saturday afternoon, 6 people including us were in the restaurant. We seated ourselves and the waitress came over and gave us the menus and asked if we wanted drinks,,we said no just water would be fine. After 15 minutes she came back to get our order,,,said Oh I totally forgot about your water,,,which tuned into another 10 min before it was there, Okay,,,6 people and she couldn't get water to the table>>??
We ordered a smoked brisket and a pulled pork sandwich to share, and after 25 minutes it arrived, pulled pork order spot on,,,brisket order not so much. Just brisket on a board, no bun, i asked if this was the sandwich,,,she said oh miscommunication with the chef??
Long story short,,,they just stuffed the brisket in a bun and said here you go!

Now to the best part,,,Pulled pork,,now I have smoked dozens of these babies and know what pulled pork should taste like, and not a gloppy wet mess on a soaked thru bun.
The brisket had NO smoke on it whatsoever,,,it was like it was steamed or something but if it was smoked,,someone forgot to add the wood!
Now I know how hard it must be to have a BBQ joint in a small venue,,,electric smokers because of space and requirements etc etc,,but I've eaten some pretty good Q all over and even made some outstanding Q of my own
but Buckstop I am afraid to say, unless it was an off day for them, is not the best BBQ in Vancouver.
sorry to say,,,we will not return

Tonight was one of the most disappointing dining experiences in many years.
The food is not thoughtfully prepared and reconstituted rather than fresh. It actually tastes Dated.
Tonight's horror story was beef liver disguised as veal. My partner and I both ordered it ( it was recommended as a special) and we were shocked by the taste and texture. We could not saw off even a small piece since the liver had the consistency of leather.
The waitress did not once come by to check on us ( now I know why ...she clearly knew it was bad ) and was very curt.
This was a second visit. The first was to try it out ( Very indifferent food) and we gave it another chance tonight.
Never again !

My Review of Faubourg Paris

I put a lot of thought to see if I should share this review or not, then I came to the conclusion that I must. To be clear, I should explain few things briefly first and then I move to the issues. The beginning is about the good past days; and I write it in detail because first, I must be fair and second, I want you to know that I KNOW THIS PLACE VERY WELL, and third, I used to care so much for Faubourg (OLD FAUBOURG WAS HOMEY FOR ME, MY FAMILY, AND FRIENDS).

Anyway, I was a fan, and a very loyal customer. And I liked this place not only for myself and family, but also friends. Every time, I wanted to do a favor for friends or to treat them, Faubourg or Faubourg gift card was the first and sometimes my only choice. I was a regular since 2014 when Faubourg was opened in Park Royal West Vancouver. And I was so happy that finally we, the West Vancouverites, have such an excellent coffee shop/ bakery in our neighborhood. I used to visit Faubourg almost every day, sometimes twice a day. Everything was excellent as I said before, customer service A+; friendly atmosphere A+ ; very nice and welcoming owner who really cared about what he is offering, how he is running his business, and how he is treating his customers ( a lovely man indeed: for sure 3 pluses A+++). The list goes on: Very clean store with beautiful décor , “TO DIE FOR” croissants, especially pistachio and almond or those cute macarons. Sandwiches tasted great, fresh and fulfilling, pastries elegant design and delicious, almond slices were rich and flavorful; perfect match for a pot of high quality tea or tea latte in late afternoon (VERY SATISFYING).

But now, the place is so disappointing that I don’t like to go back there. And it is disappointing not because every single awesome product changed to something bad, not at all (and it is not fair to say so). But now, I witness huge issues with quality service and some major products; so that me and other regulars do not like the place anymore. This place is not the Faubourg we knew.

First issue, croissants are not fresh anymore (especially the early morning ones). They bring croissants from far location (Rivershore) or sometimes I noticed they are old, dark, with lots of powder (to cover the dark spots). Then, I found out they are leftovers from the day before. Surprisingly, croissants are sold for the same price as fresh out of oven ones. It seems somehow, the management does not care about park royal customers anymore as this is not a problem with other 2 stores.

Second, it seems you can’t trust management with your orders. Me and collogues had a breakfast party while ago and I told them I will bring fresh croissants from Faubourg: From “Artisan of croissants” (MY EXACT WORDS). Since I knew the park Royal store do not have fresh croissants before noon, I put the order into Kerrisdale location for 50 croissants (30 pistachio and 20 almonds), I called management in advance to make sure I will receive fresh out of oven product and she promised to deliver best quality. Friday early morning, I went to pick up my order, things were ready in 2 big boxes (top pistachio, bottom almond). I checked the top ones; excellent fresh looking and assumes it’s the case with the other box as well. So happy and tipped the baker for 30 dollars and left to my company. And then bam, what a big disappointment? The Almond croissants were so old, dark and non- fresh to the point that my co- workers notice the difference in terms of freshness (between pistachio and almond I mean). But what could I do at that moment? Later on, I texted the picture of those obviously dark old almond croissants to the manager of Kerrisdale location. Her response: they look good to me, no they are fresh,…..
Instead of following on what happened and what was wrong, instead of appreciating the loyal customer (and she knows me very well), she reacted with very rude and disrespectful manner and also denied the fact that almonds are not as fresh as pistachios. To be clear, if she did not deny or reacted rudely; or if she just follow up on my concerns, I wouldn’t be as hurt and disappointed.

Third, the quality of product and service is very poor at Park Royal.; and I came to the conclusion that management really does not care for West Vancouver customers anymore. You should know what you receive depends on the location you are visiting (they have 3 stores) and who is on shift. You go to Hornby or Kerrisdale, things are usually consistent and good in general; and if you visit Park Royal store, you could be served with tasteless cold Latte. About Sandwiches, they are definitely very good and tasty in Kerrisdale or Hornby, but not in Park Royal (they taste and look different).

I mentioned the issues I am concerned with. To be fair and honest, I still think the rest of their product is still excellent. But what I am looking for is their old pattern: Consistent quality product and service. Yes bad things or poor quality of product or service may happen. It is natural, part of doing business, and part of receiving service on our side as customers as well. I never looked for absolute and 100 percent perfection all the time. This is not practical and I truly believe as a loyal/ practical customer, I also have a duty of ignoring minor issues or the so called “it happens sometime”. But when these problems become the norm, and when I witness different service and product in different locations, that’s a warning sign to me. In short, I find Faubourg management inconsistent, non- proffessional, and unreliable. What a disappointment!!.

I think they should consider dropping the a la carte menu for lunch. The prices are high enough that they could throw in rice and naan. The food was OK, but didn't stand out in any way, considering you can get a good meal at a better price right cross the street.

I have been in here for lunch a few times. The menu has traditional pub fare but I tend to repeat dishes I really like. I am a fan of their nachos and mac and cheese. The shrimp dumplings with a spicy mustard are also good. The place is spacious and has a lot of tvs. The service was very good.

Their pizza looks better in real life than it does as advertised on their website. It's a beautiful thing, made with care and skill, and loaded with toppings. The sauce is excellent. The crust is perfect. It is very tasty. And for only $20.00 we had a meal big enough for three people. I'd call that a good deal in Vancouver.

Still, I was going to give Vegan Pizza House 4 stars rather than 5 because vegan cheese is not as good as real cheese, and vegan meat can't compare in flavour to real meat...but then I realised that despite these things, their pizza is still fantastic, and that impressed me all the more.

If your planning to have a banquet here PLEASE READ THIS FIRSTThis used to be one of my favorite restaurants. I believe the food quality is good and the place looks real nice. We decided to have our wedding banquet here in june. I am Very disappointed with having it here. The reason for the 0star they cheated us on the food, DIDNT serve my wedding cake, also never asked if i wanted to take the cake home, one of their staff took my suit jacket. Both the Boss MR.WONG and the manager IVAN wont do anything about this situation because this is how they choose to run the business. I had everything discussed and written in contract few days prior to the event.

We wanted the Lazy susan and have the whole plate of food on each table instead of individually served. Also we brought $800 for a edible wedding cake.

When the food was being served i asked the manager IVAN why are some tables individually served and he said that the tables requested that way. so i went with it. the next day I hear complaints from my colleagues 3 tables including my boss. They said they asked the server 3 times to leave the food on the table and server still ignored them. Usually in a 10 course meal there are always left overs. in this case my colleagues left hungry and had to resort to eating MCDONALDS and NO.9 restaurant which is so embarrassing.

Empire were short staffed as people requesting pop or a cup and it would arrive anywhere from 1hr to never coming. Real rude slow service. Service was good for me of course i was paying them.

Our wedding cake was assembled by the Vendor at the location, we specifically told IVAN that its a real cake few days ago. The night of we had the first cut and the cake just sat there. i was way too busy dealing with other stuff. the staff never cut the rest of the cake. end of the night about 3 tiers left on our cake. Our friends that stayed late had a few slices and when they walked away from the cake it was suddenly wheeled away assuming its gonna be packaged up. That was the last we've seen on it again its was not our issue to be chasing them for everything. The restaurant needs to do the job we pay them for. The staff probably split the cake.

How my jacket went missing? It was hung at the head table with a flower attached to it. it was there all night until they started cleaning up the head table i didn't realize that i forgot my jacket. i called the next day and they "asked" if anyone has seen it but of course nothing. They have cameras all around the restaurant and they cant have a look at the footage if it wasn't one of the staff then they have nothing to hide.

none of these issues where brought to me until the next day i called empire right away about all this and IVAN said he cant do anything. So i requested to talk to the boss. i called and called and the boss seems to be avoiding me. I left my number for him to call me back and it never happens. i guess obviously they don't care about repeat customers. I hope everyone keys an eye out for all these snakes.

I'm not saying not to have your banquet here but just think twice and be very careful. I really didn't expect a fine dining chinese cuisine would do such things. will never step foot here again.

Why bother when there are so many choices

Came here on a Thursday night shortly after their grand opening. Was a disaster from the beginning. The waiter was running back and forth as the were short staffed (more on that in a moment)

We ordered two bowls of ramen and Gyoza.
Gyoza was too soft and edges tasted hard - first strike
Ramen came out a whopping 40 minutes later and this is not just our table, everyone's dinner was late - strike two.

Final strike - the broth was cold! They have to re-heat it in the microwave and the food didn't even look like it did in the menu.

The waiter did explain they were short staffed that night, as two waiters called in sick. He had to come out of the kitchen to help...they did apologize and comp'd our meals...but we won't be back. Simply too many good ramen restaurants in the area.

Expensive,over rated,chip oil hasn't been changed in a long time, they just keep adding oil. Soggy chips. Fish just OK. Why would anyone enjoy this sub standard fare. Wake up people and look three doors down at any one of the much better Fish and Chippy. LAST TIME, thank goodness I didn't pay so didn't complain.

Nice patio dining experience

We had a nice meal on the patio on Canada Day. The restaurant is right on the Canada US border. You take the last exit before the crossing to the US.
The theme of the restaurant is very much horse racing and they have many posters inside the restaurant of various horse races and each table has a screen that has horse racing. I much preferred our seat outside on the patio. We were the only customers on the front patio so it was very nice.
The service was okay but not great. The water was not topped up at all during the course of our meal and when we ordered a bottle of wine our server did not even open the bottle and pour the first glass (I think that maybe a first, sometimes the server will not top up the wine but they always at least open the bottle and pour the first glass). The food that we had was very good. We started off with an appetizer of calamari and it was a generous portion of crispy tender calamari served with tzatziki sauce, onions and tomato. For entrees my husband had the barbecue spareribs that he said were very good. The ribs were nice and moist, it was very flavourful and it was a good sized portion. I had a pork chop with a cherry sauce. The pork chop was well cooked and the cherry sauce was well paired with the pork chop. It came with mashed potatoes, and grilled, cauliflower, carrots, broccoli and asparagus. The vegetables were really good as they were grilled and very tasty, not like overcooked steamed or boiled vegetables that you often get.
I don’t whether it was just the evening that we were there or if it is a regular Friday feature but they had a 3 course menu that included soup or salad, entrée (one entrée was rib steak with 2 prawns) and dessert for $22.00. Our entrees were $19.95 each and for the quality it was good value.
After we had finished our meal and were enjoying our wine the owner or manager came out to chat with us for awhile. It’s nice to know your business is appreciated.
It was a most enjoyable evening on the patio. If we returned I would try to get patio seating again.

Ordered 2 dishes one veg & other non-veg. Totally different dishes, but got exact same gravy, what a joke. Very bad service, chase for water. Had to stop eating & visit counter requesting for water. Almost felt like going to kitchen & getting water myself. Food taste was mediocre at best. Seems it was prepared in hurry, only 1 other family their not sure what caused it. Menu price was similar as Tasty Bistro, please think twice before you bring family or friends here. Wish we would have went for Bistro instead.
Time & money wasted, will never go back. I gave 3 for Ambiance cause honestly better compare to food, service & value.

Don't ever go there! Bad attitude and racist! The owner is a bully!!! I was there with my elderly parents watching a EURO cup game. Before I ordered I asked the waitress if they will turn on the volume for the game and she said yes and they are trying to fix it so I ordered drinks but hold off on food until they get the system fixed - who want to watch the game with no volume!?!!? 15 mins late she said their owner is coming over to fix the system. 30 mins later that owner came but said they won't be putting the volume on and he said we need to order food otherwise we have to immediately pay for the drinks and leave. Instead of being apologetic, he actually bullied us when my dad complained that the waitress tricked us into ordering drinks with promise that volume on TV will be turned on. That bully got angry and threaten to call police to kick us out - two 75+ seniors who just want to feel the vibes to watch the game in a pub. We were lied to when the waitress promised twice the system will be fixed, we were bullied when the owner threatened us, we were offended when the bully called my parents names. This is no way to treat customers. I wanted him to follow through with his threats to call the police, he tried but apparently the police won't take his complaints so he left his own restaurant with tail between his legs. This bully owner is giving his own restaurant a bad name

I might be shooting myself in the foot by telling the world how amazing this place is. Tucked away in the Delbrook Plaza, only minutes away from the hustle bustle of Westview Shopping Centre and Edgemont Village, this is a haven with its cozy ambience and French touch. These two ladies know what they're doing. Oh, did I mention AMAZING sandwiches and delicious coffee?

As the review title says, the food was really good here but our server struggled with the service. We ordered a variety of dishes that we all shared including the bang bang prawns, fly rice, huli chicken and beef rib. All were very tasty and enjoyable.

The service on the other hand was brutal. Drink orders took 15 minutes or longer each round. Our bill took at least 20 minutes to get and then it had to be reprinted a couple of times because it was wrong.

Overall I would return because the food was great but I hope I don't have the same server.

Food is really good & tasty.
After Tasty Bistro this is next best thing as far as Food taste.

This place is for Breakfast & lunch.
Just be prepared for wait line on weekends during noon.

Special Bature & Amritsir Kulche. I always ask for well done if you like crispy.
Parking is problem as Payal center is always busy. They do not charge for tips, so you have to leave cash for waiters on table.
